JOB OFFER Assistant Accountant in the Secretariat of the Danube Commission (BUDAPEST)
The Danube Commission (DC), an international organization based in Budapest, is announcing a vacancy for the position of Assistant Accountant. The selection process will take place in August 2023.
Main tasks:
- Works under the supervision of the Deputy Director General for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
- Supports the work of the Expert in financial management and third party budgets in the areas for which he is responsible in terms of accounting, budget planning and budget execution.
- Maintenance of the cash book and execution of the Commission’s cash transactions.
- Responsible for the completeness of the cash in the cash register.
- Completes the documents required for banking transactions.
- Input of data on financial transactions carried out into the IT systems used by the Danube
- Calculation of salaries and payment execution.
- Carries out other tasks related to the activities of the Secretariat of the Danube Commission, as well as on the instructions of the Director General and the Deputy Director General for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
Requirements
- Completion of a (vocational) secondary school with a focus on commercial and business administration education.
- Several years of work experience in accounting and bookkeeping (at least five years).
- Good knowledge of MS Office programs, especially Excel, as well as experience with common software in the field of bookkeeping and accounting.
- Good oral and written communication and teamwork skills.
- Analytical skills and a high affinity for numbers and IT.
- Knowledge of one of the Danube Commission’s official languages is mandatory. Knowledge of other official languages, as well as of the language of the country where the Commission is headquartered and of English is desirable.
We offer you:
- Employment contract for an indefinite period;
- Work in international team;
- Part-time work of 20 hours/week;
- Official salary 1250 Euro per month;
- Additional incentives set out in the relevant DC Regulations;
- Date of employment: from 1 December 2023 at the earliest.
