At the initiative of Prof. Ivan Hal\u00e1sz, from the Department of Constitutional Law and Comparative Public Law, NUPS, the study visit at the DC headquarters was aimed to familiarise students with the practical workings of the institutions and organizations with international affairs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The members of the DC Secretariat gave the students a general presentation of the organization\u2019s activities, structure and responsibilities, as well as a brief historical overview of the international institutions that have had the river Danube as their scope.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11634 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.danubecommission.org\/dc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/students20230426.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.danubecommission.org\/dc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/students20230426.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.danubecommission.org\/dc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/students20230426-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.danubecommission.org\/dc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/students20230426-768x384.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Chief Engineer and the Deputy Director for Legal Affairs and Human Resources presented the current undertakings of the organization, touching upon issues such as the development of navigation, fairway maintenance, emissions reduction, fleet modernization, impact of climate change on Danube navigation, as well as legal aspects of the functioninig of the organization in the current international context.<\/p>\n<p>In the second part of the meeting, the students had the opportunity to hear about participation of the Danube Commission in the projects funded by the European Union, with a focus on <a href=\"https:\/\/platina3.eu\/\">Platina3<\/a>.
