On the 8th of March, Mr. Predrag Petrović, Mr. Ivan Divac, Assistant Minsters and Mr. Predrag Jevremović, Head of Group for Maritime Navigation of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia, visited the headquarters of the Danube Commission.
The discussion centered on the current activities and assistance offered by the Secretariat to the competent authorities of the member-states under the provisions and in line with the objectives of the Belgrade Convention regarding the regime of navigation on the Danube (1948), as well as on the main challenges and ways of improving the efficiency of environmental performance of Danube navigation, in particular, by means of fleet modernization. Mutual recognition of the vessel certificates of the member-states in the context of implementation of EU standards (ES TRIN) has also been touched upon as one of the domains of cooperation and activity of the Secretariat.
The Serbian delegation expressed its readiness and interest to contribute to the common efforts which could consolidated the image and competence of the Danube Commission at the international level.
At the end of the meeting, the Serbian officials have also signed the Guest Book of the Danube Commission.
