Participation of DC Secretariat at the 67th Conference of the Directors of Danube Shipping Companies – Members of the Bratislava Agreements

On September 23 – 24, 2025, the General Director of the Secretariat of the Danube Commission, Mr. Manfred Seitz, and Mr Dejan Trifunovic, Counsellor, took part in the 67th Conference of the Directors of Danube Shipping Companies – Members of the Bratislava Agreements, which was organized in Belgrade, Serbia.

The Conference provides a forum for shipping companies to discuss common challenges and coordinate efforts. The meeting addressed key issues concerning the current situation of Danube navigation, including the maintenance of the Danube fairway, the investment in fleet modernization, as well as the availability of qualified crews.

The representative of the DC informed the sector about the activities carried out by the Commission to ensure good navigation status on the Danube, including support for waterway infrastructure improvements and digitalization of the sector. The energy transition focusing on the greening of the Danube Fleet represents one of the priorities of the DC, with dedicated initiatives and several activities to be organized in the near future.
