DC Secretariat meeting with representatives of the Czech Republic’s Ministry of Transport

On September 29, 2025, the General Director of the Secretariat of the Danube Commission, Mr. Manfred Seitz, had a bilateral meeting with Mr Dabrowski Vojtěch, Director, and Mr Vydra Evžen from the Czech Republic’s Ministry of Transport, as part of the regular interactions with observer states to the organization.

The discussions addressed the situation of traffic flows on the Danube and the activities within the Danube Solidarity Lane initiative, as well as updates on the status of the Danube Commission’s reform process. The Czech representatives stressed the role of inland navigation in relation to other modes of transport, including sources and destinations of transport in the Czech Republic.

The meeting represented a good opportunity to exchange views on the modernization of inland waterway vessels in connection with reducing environmental impact, with a focus on activities in the Danube region and in the Czech Republic.

At the invitation of the Czech representatives, the meeting was followed by a technical visit port of Hluboka nad Vitavou.
